Ancelotti amazes with statements about BVB star Bellingham

The reigning Champions League winner Real Madrid is considered one of the hottest prospects for Dortmund midfield star Jude Bellingham. At the weekend, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti commented directly on the currently most valuable player in the Bundesliga.

During the Royal La Liga game at FC Villarreal, which surprisingly lost 2-1, the star coach was asked about the 19-year-old from Borussia Dortmund.

“There are a lot of young people like Enzo Fernandez [Benfica Lissabon, Anm. d. Red.]many midfielders who stand out, including some Spaniards like Pedri or Gavi [FC Barcelona]. Bellingham is one of them, but I prefer my midfielders who are very good, especially the young ones like Valverde, Camavinga or Tchouaméni.”

Ancelotti’s statements don’t sound like the Madrilenians are really as keen on Bellingham as the Spanish media has been rumored for weeks.

However, the former Bayern Munich coach also brings with him the experience of several decades in top European football, so he obviously did not want to fuel the already wild speculation about Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham any further.

Ancelotti with historic Real line-up

Ancelotti himself wrote completely different headlines in the Spanish championship at the weekend. In the away defeat in Villarreal there was not a single Spaniard in the starting eleven of the royal team. Real started the game with three French, two Brazilians, two Germans and one each from Belgium, Austria, Croatia and Uruguay.

There had never been a line-up without a single Spaniard in the proud and more than 120-year history of the royal club. The Ancelotti line-up had sparked some controversy in Spain.
