Sad end to sun-filled day
A sunny and relaxed day at the Nijstad beach in Hoogeveen had an inky black finish on Sunday. A 21-year-old resident of the local asylum seekers center drowned in the recreational lake † Bystanders jumped into the water to save the man: ,,But they didn’t see him anymore. Underwater visibility also diminishes quickly. A very intense moment, of course.”
