Do you sprinkle amounts of water and rice on the side of the basmati rice packet? Forget it.

Chef and food influencer Hanna Himanga (formerly Gullichsen)’s goal is to make our everyday life easier and cooking fun. He hopes to make people eat better and get excited about cooking.

Himanka advises that, for example, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar and soy make a heavenly mash that goes well with noodles, for example.

– The recipes in my cookbooks are only suggestions that can be applied to your liking. It would be great if you can find a tip that can be used in other dishes as well. And thus you would find enthusiasm for cooking.

One everyday help is to overcook both potatoes and rice, so that there are also leftovers for the next day. Himanka often cooks with basmati rice.

– Put the cooked rice in the pan and season well. Throw in a couple more eggs and you’ve got the perfect lunch. Fry the garlic in oil, add a good spice such as curry or chili flakes. Curry has been neglected for no reason. It’s absolutely lovely with a little kick, beautiful color and tastes great.

According to Himanga, cheese cumin is also wonderful.

– Basmati rice is the best friend, but there is a really stupid instruction on the side of the rice package, Himanka snorts and continues:

– In my opinion, basmati rice is cooked in plenty of water and a lot of salt. There should be 2–3 liters of water.

The desired amount of rice is poured into water and allowed to boil for exactly ten minutes. After that, pour the water out through a strainer or a sieve. You can leave the rice waiting in the colander while you prepare the rest of the food. Finally, fork the rice into the food.
