Filmmaker Yannesh Meijman and cameraman Sam Broekman already knew each other, together they made the Amsterdam squatters film, Hotel Mokum. By chance they discover their third partner, Tom Evers. Tom is in possession of a baking moped and it appears to be ideal to tear through the city. Together they build a camera construction on the baking moped. That is important for the perspective, cameraman Sam explains.

What noticed them of the changing street scene? “The Zeedijk,” says Yannesh. “It used to be much rougher there”. The Stopera was also not yet visible on the images of Van der Elsken. “Still strange that the Jewish neighborhood was demolished. While we have a town hall on Dam Square,” says Yannesh.
