According to Simplot, the companies are highly complementary. “This acquisition not only increases our capacity to serve the European market, but also unites two family businesses that connect closely with regard to core values and dedication to customers, employees and the environment in which we are active,” says Graham Dugdale, chairman of Simplot’s Global Food Business.

In the press release, the companies emphasize that staff and factories in Europe will be retained and will even be expanded after the acquisition.

Clarebout has his headquarters in Nieuwkerke in West Flanders and offers work on more than 3,000 people. The Belgian factories are located in Nieuwkerke and Waasten. Two years ago the company opened a new factory in Dunkirk.
