Secondhand boomt. So much that online retailers Amazon also pays special attention to this segment and organizes a special shopping event for second-hand articles for the first time: the “Second Chance Deal Days” will take place from September 3 to 9. While at least one banner is devoted to these in the UK on the homepage, you have to search for “second chance” items on the German website – they are hidden under “Programs and functions” in the bar.
Amazon promises Kund: Inside “attractive discounts of up to 50 percent on returned and overhauled articles”. According to its own information, the company alone offers around 40 million high-quality second-hand items in almost all product categories, including consumer electronics and computers, gaming, household and kitchen, fitness, toys and clothing.

The online retailer sells used, returned and overhauled articles about two programs: Amazon Retourauf and Amazon Renewed. The former offers used and open products at reduced prices. The articles are subjected to a thorough examination before the resale and descriptions such as “as new”, “very good”, “good” or “acceptable” and pronounced accordingly.
As good as new, general -overhauled products that are sold by qualified sales partners: inside of Amazon are offered via Amazon Renewed. The company emphasizes that each article is subjected and tested and cleaned before selling a professional examination. He also has to meet Amazon Renewed’s requirements.

So that it is stunned: Inside your wallet and at the same time contribute to extending the lifespan of products,” comments Rocco Bräuniger, Country Manager from Amazon Germany, in a message.
