The US company Amazon has opened a new and larger German headquarters in Munich. The 45,000 square meter building in the north of Munich will accommodate the workforce that was previously spread across four buildings, as the company announced. The new building is further evidence of the long-term commitment to Bavaria and Germany as a location, said Germany boss Rocco Bräuniger, according to the announcement.

Amazon did not disclose the costs of the new German headquarters. The online giant now employs a good 40,000 people in Germany and wants to expand further. In 2024, the company invested 14 billion euros in the Federal Republic. In Bavaria, Amazon operates 17 logistics centers, among other things.

Despite the ongoing economic crisis in Germany, the tech industry is still looking for qualified specialists. The new building is equipped with all kinds of amenities for the workforce, including a cinema and yoga rooms.
