Anisimova kept bad memories of the Polish number two in the world. Earlier this year she suffered a hopeless defeat against Swiatek in the final of Wimbledon. Anisimova then dripped off without having won a game (0-6 0-6).

It is the first time that Anisimova reached the semi -final in New York. In addition to Wimbledon, Swiatek won four times Roland Garros and the US Open in 2022.

Naomi Osaka is the opponent of Anisimova in the semi -final. The raised winner of 2018 and 2020 settled in two sets with Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic: 6-4 and 7-6 (3).
