The code orange is valid at least until Monday and can possibly be extended after that.

“It is very dry and dangerous in nature. Be careful, do not smoke in nature and forest areas. Do not leave children unsupervised in the area. It is prohibited to make a fire,” according to Natuur en Bos.

More equipment and manpower

The code also means that if a fire breaks out, the fire brigade will be strengthened. More equipment and manpower will be deployed. The warning applies to all forest and nature reserves of Natuur en Bos.

There is of course also a fire risk in other nature reserves. Therefore, the agency recommends that the same caution be exercised.
