DSV duo are aiming for the top ten
In the German camp there is currently no thought of winning the giant slalom. but the latest results give hope that it can definitely make it into the top ten. Slalom expert Lena Dürr celebrated her best result in this discipline to date with a sixth place at the World Cup in Copper Mountain at the end of November, while all-rounder Emma Aicher recently delivered her best giant slalom in Tremblant in twelfth place. Fabiana Dorigo and Jana Fritz complete the DSV squad in Semmering.

Scheib and Robinson are in a class of their own so far
Four giant slaloms have already been held this winter. Two athletes have particularly stood out and have won the day so far. Julia Scheib of Austria, who will open today with start number one, won in Sölden and Tremblant, while New Zealand’s Alice Robinson was fastest in Copper Mountain and in the second giant slalom in Tremblant. In addition to the two of them, Mikaela Shiffrin is of course also expected to be at the front today, having cleared everything in the slalom so far, but is still waiting for her first podium of the season in the giant slalom.
