Alphonso Davies’ future at FC Bayern is uncertain. According to a report, progress has now been made.
The tough contract negotiations with top players like Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies require sports director Max Eberl at FC Bayern to have strengths that he actually doesn’t have. “Basically, patience is not a quality of mine. I say that quite honestly. I’m impatient. If I want to achieve something, then I want to achieve it,” said Eberl about “all the conversations that have been the topic of our discussion for weeks.”
The 51-year-old can probably take a deep breath before Munich’s next Bundesliga duel against VfL Wolfsburg. As “The Athletic” reports, Alphonso Davies will extend his contract with Bayern, which expires in the summer. The German record champions and the 24-year-old are said to have achieved a breakthrough in the negotiations.
According to the report, there is only “a small gap” between the expectations of the two sides. Davies’ contract in Munich is to be extended by four years.
In recent months there have been repeated rumors that the Canadian international has offers from Real Madrid and Premier League clubs. The Spanish radio station “Cadena SER” recently reported that Davies’ agent Nick Househ had received a final offer from Real Madrid for his client. In it: a five-year contract with an annual gross salary of 20 million euros plus additional money for a free transfer from Davies to Madrid.
The salary is particularly likely to attract Davies. Both the Bayern side and the professional allegedly have different salary expectations. The player is apparently demanding an annual salary of 16 million euros plus bonus payments and a deposit of 15 million euros. This is supposedly too much for Bayern – or is it no longer? As the Canadian television station “TSN” also reports, Davies’ new four-year contract in Munich could be signed as early as next week.
