Almost 60 million euros have already been paid to victims of attacks in Zaventem and Maalbeek

Six years after the attacks, insurers have paid out about 58.8 million euros to the victims of the attacks in Zaventem and Maalbeek on March 22, 2016. Assuralia, the federation of insurers, reported this in its annual update on compensation on Tuesday. The insurers also set up a reserve of 60.6 million euros to guarantee future payments. Assuralia is still advocating a new legal framework to better accommodate victims of terrorism.
