In 2024, 4,780 people were removed from the baptismal register of the Belgian Catholic Church. This is evident on Monday from figures that Belga could look into. “A group of people has become alienated from the church over time,” says Geert De Kerpel, spokesperson for the Belgian Bishops’ Conference.
