The yard of the Mennega family from Eext was the setting for a festive unveiling this morning. The owners of eight vintage tractors received a special card game from Jeroen Bosman.

“This is the trigger card game,” Bosman explains. A year ago he came up with the idea to create the game. “I had done that before in Germany, because we had a house there. The people there liked it so much that I also wanted to do that in Eext.”

And so it happened. After a call in the local newspaper of Eext, there was a massive response. “No fewer than 96 people with tractors registered. 77 of them come from Eext, the rest from surrounding villages. I did not set high standards: the tractor simply had to be nice to see for the enthusiast.”

The eight vintage cars on Mennega’s yard are indeed beautiful. And the proud owners know that too. “This is an original BMD Farmall. I still have it!”, Evert Mennega smiles. “The sound of the tractor: I just love it.”

Enthusiast Rabbe Vedder agrees with this. He collected no fewer than six tractors of the same brand in his life. “It started with my very first tractor, which was a Fahr. Then there had to be a second one, and a third, and so on. Fortunately, I collect tractors and not women,” Vedder laughs.

The tractor owners are satisfied with the game they have in their hands. They enthusiastically show each other the cards. “This is the most beautiful,” Vedder boasts, holding up his Fahr’s card.
