Animal welfare organization House of Animals wants an animal boarding house in Darp to close its doors before Christmas. According to the organization, the animals are not properly cared for and a report is being prepared. The guest house denies the abuses.
House of Animals reports that ten former employees have come forward with nasty stories about how animals are treated in the boarding house. 24 dog owners are also said to have reacted angrily.
A person involved in the guest house, who does not want to give his name, denies that there has been abuse and other abuses. “There was a problem with a dog last summer and it went viral. It has become a smear campaign against us. Everything is fine with us now.”
“We had to adjust some things, such as new cages and new floors, and everything has been refurbished. The animal welfare inspection took place two weeks ago and everything was approved.”
Director Karen Soeters of House of Animals says that it is not about new floors or cages, but mainly about how the animals have been treated. “We have the stories of former employees and dog owners, and they are probably not known to the National Animal Welfare Inspection Service. That is why we want to file a report.”
