It is downright reprehensible that Ali B showed up at rapper Boef’s concert in the fall and even had his picture taken with fans, according to image expert Zabeth van Veen. “Like seeks like.”
Ali B has been convicted of sexual offenses and although the appeal has yet to be filed, it is clear that he will be behind bars. And then of course you are canceled as a celebrity; this is never going to work out again. Although as a sex offender you are apparently welcome among fellow rappers. Ali showed up at Boef’s big concert in October.
Like seeks like
We saw Ali happily posing with fans during the concert in the Ziggo Dome and that surprised many people. This is all very inconvenient from a PR perspective, says image expert Zabeth van Veen Weekend.
Both gentlemen should not want this, according to Zabeth. “Ali was at rapper Boef’s concert. Both have questionable backgrounds and are accused, among other things, of cheating and having no respect for women, as Boef’s ex puts it. You could say: like seeks like.”
Bad image
It is apparently nice for Ali and Boef that they have each other, Zabeth adds cynically. “At least they have someone they can identify with and seek support from, but on the other hand, this reinforces their bad image.”
Apparently the rappers’ supporters are all fine with this. “However, there are also people who find it very normal to interact with women in this way, and some fans remain loyal.”
Out of the gutter
Zabeth expects Ali’s image among the masses will never change. “Public opinion is: your wife pulled you out of the gutter and this is how you treat her? That raises questions about how Ali B interacts with others.”
“His image is quite reprehensible, in the media he is seen as a manipulator. Except perhaps in a specific scene, the environment of rapper Boef.”
