The partnership between Alfa Romeo and the team Red Moonan international point of reference in the world of sailing and a symbol of Italianness in the world, is now ready to set sail. Al Brussels Motorshow 2026in fact, the Biscione company has presented a new special series of one of its most important cars: the Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa. This is a version that represents the meeting between two important Italian brands on three levels: sporting partnership, technical collaboration and creation of special editions inspired by sailing. This limited series starts from the production Giulia Quadrifoglio, built in the factory Cassinoand then developed into the universe Fuoriserie Workshopor the new center dedicated to customization that unites Alfa Romeo and Maserati. With the new version dedicated to Luna Rossa, this high-performance sedan stands at the top of the Biscione special series range. All already sold there are ten copies of this version, the most extreme ever, thanks to various technical interventions and one specific one carbon kitcapable of generating up to five times the aerodynamic load of the standard version.

Exteriors and interiors

As for the exteriors of this special Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa, we find an iridescent hand-painted shade that recalls the shades of Luna Rossa’s hull. There is in fact a two-tone contrastwith bonnet, roof and rear in black combined with grey present on most of the bodywork. The sculpted lines and sporty elegance of the car are thus enhanced, where for the first time the Alfa Romeo logos are dressed in red. The aesthetics of the special series are inspired by the color ofAC75the boat with which Luna Rossa participated in the last one America’s Cupthat of 2024 in Barcelona. The front is then characterized by lateral appendages on the front bumper capable of increasing the load on the front end. The profiles applied to the bottom of the body generate a strong suction cup effect for a peak load, while along the sides, the carbon miniskirts improve overall efficiency. The spectacular is then the protagonist rear wingwith a double profile supported by two central pylons, which takes inspiration from foil of Luna Rossa’s AC75s, i.e. the hydrodynamic appendages that lift the boats out of the water. However, on the Alfa Romeo the foil section was reversed to press the car onto the asphalt and obtain more efficiency. THE 19″ rims they have instead been repainted with a red shade, while the roof, shield and mirror caps are in exposed carbon. Inside the cockpit of this car we always find the style of the Luna Rossa team, starting from the seats Sparco with exclusive coverings and graphics inspired by Pfd (Personal Flotation Device)the technical jackets used by the Luna Rossa crew themselves. The bridge is then embellished with the original material coming from the sails of the Italian vessel, with a very thin film, one of the many layers that make up an original sail from Luna Rossa itself. Then there is theinternal carbon fiber trimwith the central tunnel and seat shell bearing the logo of the Italian sailing team itself.

Performance and collaboration

Thanks to the high aerodynamic load, with the new carbon package to maximize efficiency and stability, this Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa manages to reach the 300 km/h of maximum speed. The integration of the solutions studied by Alfa Romeo technicians guarantees an excellent aerodynamic balance of 40% on the front, for even more precise driving dynamics. At the maximum possible speed this model can generate approx 140 kg loadthus reaching a value five times higher than the standard car. Under the hood we find a 2.9-litre V-six twin-turbo engine. With a power of 520 HP (382 kW) and 600 Nm of torque, all combined with the mechanical self-locking differential. With this the torque transfer is optimized to increase stability, agility and cornering speed. The gearbox is an eight-speed automatic for a car that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 3.9 seconds and consumes approximately 10.1 l/100 km. This limited series thus strengthens the partnership between Alfa Romeo and Luna Rossa, born on 10 June 2025 to prepare to face together the next edition of the America’s Cup, the most important sailing competition in the world, which in 2027 will take place for the first time in Italy and to be precise in Gulf of Naples. The collaboration between these two Italian brands then saw the involvement of Luna Rossa in the latest edition of the Mille Miglia, on board a historic Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint from 1956 kept in the Arese Museum.
