Stubb told how his mother became ill with epilepsy when Stubb was only 12 years old. Mother’s illness was difficult for young Stubb.

– [Hän oli] a person loved by all. But in the early 80s, my mother got epilepsy and I think I was the first to see it. I was 12 years old, Stubb said.

The former prime minister described how the strong medication affected his mother and at the same time also affected him and his brother.

– [Äidin] mood swings and there was depression. And of course it was a very difficult place for me and my brother. But in the middle of it all, there was one person who seemed to be in the middle of it all, and that’s my father sitting there. That’s why this is an ode to my father, Stubb said.

– I was, not härregud, Stubb laughed.

Love was a big reason why Stubb chose Supernaiset as the song of his life.

– It’s an ode to my father and to the fact that love is eternal and can happen even in old age.
