«“ Swings of tone. Salts, go up! Go up, go up, go up! ” The director, Marco Meat, stood out when my voice became screeching, blocked me: “Even less, eh …” Alessandra Mastronardi, struggling with the first angular character of the Carrierto. «No no, let’s admit it as well: a real antipathic, acidic and implicit. It’s fun for that! Luckily there are the audio series, they allow me “different colors”: on the screen I have made a little more difficult to get out of the role of the sweet Eva Codicini de The Cesaroni Which has been loved so much … obviously my face reassures: it has always been going on so, I don’t fight us anymore ».
Alessandra Mastronardi from The Cesaroni to Poirot
It has been going on for almost twenty years, to be exact, but the network still unleashes when it comes to Alessandra and the phenomenon series, which is because it is not in the sequel shot by Claudio Amendola or because it was not present at the funeral of the co -star, Antonello Fassari. “The Cesaroni were my school, my first test for many yearsI’ve never denied them and I will never do it. I lived, cried and rice creating the character, loving him so much that he had the courage to let him go before the story became spoiled by time. Unfortunately having entered such deeply in the hearts of many families has its cons And in this world where social networks have become the new squares of exchange and meetings, without any rule except that of freedom of speech that often turns into freedom of insult, here is what to say no to a seventh season or physically missing to a funeral, for strictly personal reasons, unleashes unprecedented verbal violence, where everyone feels legitimized to impose their vision On the life of those who actually even know. Usually I drop into the ether who defines themselves alone through the words they use. “
In fact, it is the first time that opens on the theme … “The anger I read, the insults, the death threats, the blind ferocity manifested without any reason made me reflect a lot. If I – who have been 39 years old, attend this media reality for a while and should be prepared for haters, haters – I feel the weight of these offenses today, who has 15 years old, or 20, what can he warn? How do you react? None of us is protected, nobody is truly safe as long as we just read, scroll and comment on the violence of all kinds, even just minutes. I would like a world where you love each other more And, if it is still far away, then a world where the universe of the internet also applies behavioral rules: freedom is everyone’s right, but you have to learn to see where yours ends and mine starts ».

Today Alessandra’s priority is looking forward, looking for new challenges. How, in part, it was Poirot in Styles Courtthe series audio (Taken from Agatha Christie’s debut yellow and produced by Audible Originals) which finally gave it the Possibility to explore other nuances. “I made audiobooks in the past, but there it’s you, alone with the lectern: this time there was to interact with the various characters” he explains. Claudio Santamaria is the Belgian investigator Hercule Poirot; Alberto Malanchino his friend, Captain Hastings; Mara Maionchi the victim, the owner of the Styles Court estate.
Is there anything that, of this experience, will carry on?
Certainly that freedom that we actors – being alas perpetually insecure we give ourselves rarely. At the beginning, fear prevails, the constraint of stakes that self -reflects you (in reality, nobody puts them!). Instead here I tried the taste of the game and I understood that the more you have fun it works.
It is now a veteran. Why does the approach to work continues to be tormented?
They are super serious and arrivals on set are full of doubts: I have to unhinge every idea that I made on the role to be able to let myself go. There is a strange paradox, p ù grow and the more you understand many things, but at the same time the awareness of your limits increases: you recognize them, you see them. As a young man you have a wonderful unconsciousness, throw yourself and go, you don’t care.
Yes console, good sign. He is not the victim of the “Dunning-Kruger effect”, the one for which unwanted and competent individuals in any field overete their preparation.
I don’t run the risk, maybe! (smiles) Today, at 39 years old, awareness is one of the things I aim in my private life (when you are aware of any choice, it is as if I master already), instead in the acting it blocks you, stiffens you.
Projects in sight?
Will soon be broadcast Double gamethe channel 5 series directed by Andrea Molaioli. The aspiration would also be to script, and I would have already identified two perfect texts: it is what you deserve and three who is innocent of Barbara Frandino (both Einaudi, ed.). It has a very cinematographic and very feminine writing, but not that feminine “pink”. For Nieeeente! It reveals the famous “dark side”, which intrigues me.

But has she already ventured as a screenwriter?
Yes! For Master of Nonethe Netflix series by Aziz Ansari: I wrote the character of Francesca, where I had put everything about me, from the references to my family to those to my best friend. It was a fun experience: I had never had it, Aziz and I improvised. Ah, I also participated in the production and drafting of Milk Teeth-being girls in Afghanistanan animated short for Unicef. A project born on the field, right on the field.
In what sense?
I went to Kabul with the director Giuseppe Carrieri, but we could not bring any operator: the latest Taliban restrictions had not yet entered (for the rules that are now there now I could probably not even enter the country, as a woman), but there were no filming. We met one of the very few filmmakers who remained in the country, Amin Meerzad, and we asked him: “Why don’t we turn a short? We write it together, you dirigi, we produce it and take it to Italy to show the artistic part of an Afghanistan now suffocated”. And so it went!

The subject?
He talks about a girl who – aware that, growing up, he would have had to submit to a combined marriage begins to be terrified of becoming an adult and, when the teeth begin to fall, tries to reattach them …
Then he experienced production, the latest trend of his American colleagues, by Nicole Kidman and Emma Stone.
For now I have limited myself to Milk Teethbut I would really like to set up a sort of female production house (female, not “female”: there is a nice difference!) To give voice to a new generation of authors. There is a wave of very good young people!
Would he already have the team in mind?
Yes, and it’s not just about actresses. I have been working on the sets for 20 years and sets were notoriously male, in particular as regards the workers. In the last two to three years there has been a change, the pink quotas have increased dramatically: it was wonderful to see, at some point, that the environment was coloring with people similar to you. Before, in addition to the actresses, there were exclusively costume designers and make -up and hair employees … with some “techniques” (the edition assistant, the director’s assistant, the machine operator) we really created a network: we all have an incredible desire to tell the stories seen by us, made among us.
