“There were tears”: Ex-HSV professional ends career

Former HSV professional Albin Ekdal has announced the end of his active professional career. According to consistent media reports, the midfielder’s season in Sweden is over. “There were a few tears,” the 36-year-old is quoted by “HBO Max.” “It’s hard to put it into words. Ekdal played a total of 57 competitive games for Hamburger SV between 2015 and 2018. In addition to HSV, he was also active in Italy for Sampdoria Jacqueline (126 games), Cagliari Calcio (122 games) and Juventus Turin (4 games). He was most recently under contract in his home country with Djugardens IF, where his career now ends. He was set back by several injuries throughout his career.
