Also the eleventh season of Formula e It comes to an end. On the occasion of the last appointment of the championship, the Marvel Fantastic Four London E-Prixwe interviewed Alberto Longoco-founder and CCO (Chief Championship Officer) of Formula E. Many themes addressed, from the seasonal budget to the future objectives, passing through the novelties of the next season. And not only that: Alberto Longo also spoke of Italy And the chances of returning to see an e-prix in our country. Small anticipation: there is good news.

Alberto, what is his balance of this eleventh season of Formula e?
“I think it was a great success. The calendar was exciting. The new machines have performed much better, thus guaranteeing faster races, more overtaking, more emotions to fans. In essence, more show. Our fanbase is growing, just as the people who look at the races from home are increasing. There are over 190 nations that transmit the formula and live”.

The grand finale is in London: how did the city welcome you?
“It is a great privilege to run here. For us London it is home, our offices are in Hammersmith, so near London Excel where the race takes place. We are at the only event in which the race is indoor and outdoor at the same time. Only in formula and things like this genre can happen. We have over 2 million enthusiasts here in the United Kingdom. As I said, this for us is home. Very exciting: in fact, even if the pilot championship is already assigned, that manufacturers still no “.

What are the news and the objectives for the next season?
“The first goal is obviously to continue to increase our number of enthusiasts and spectators from home. We will have a wider calendar, as we have just announced, and this is already a goal achieved. A couple of races have yet to be confirmed and we hope to be able to do it by October. We can consider ourselves satisfied if we grow at least with the same pace with which we have grown in the last ten years. This year we have grown by about 30%, in the next season “.

Will the formula return to Italy in the future?
“Italy represents an important market for Formula E. We have run there for many years and we will go back. We want to return to Italy and we will do it. We need some time. We tried to run in a permanent circuit, but it did not prove to be suitable for formula E. The track was fantastic, the insiders very competent, but the track was not the right one for our single -seater. We are talking to two or three cities in Italy. Initial phases.

So are you thinking of running even in permanent tracks or will you continue only on citizens?
“Our DNA is to run in the heart of the cities around the world and that remains our target. But it is also true that our single -seater have become much faster in the past and that current technologies allow us to go even in permanent tracks to demonstrate how fast our cars are. It is a question of finding the right compromise between our DNA, which is to run in citizens, and the desire to show the level to which our level arrive single -seater, which will grow even more with those of the fourth generation.

Last question: what was the best time of your season in your opinion?
“Having a single -seater ranging from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour in 1.8 seconds is something fantastic. We have still shown that these cars can be the fastest in the world and this is very important for us. It was a key goal when we founded the formula and eleven years ago. As we have just announced we will go to run in Spain, which is my birthplace, so personally it is very special. The events we had with Mr. Beast were also exciting. It was therefore more than one special moment.
