Albertism vs. Kirchnerism: the internal for the agreement with the IMF

After the beginning of agreement with the International Monetary Fund for the payment of foreign debt, they exploded comments for and against inside the front of all. As often happens, those who preferred to avoid silence used social networks to express their position. The internal within the government came to light again and the differences between the Albertism and the Kirchnerism they grow larger and seem irreconcilable.

While Alberto Fernández’s entourage in the corridors of the Casa Rosada celebrated the agreement, opinions came in against the government’s decision. Alicia Castro, former Argentine ambassador to Bolivia and the United Kingdom who responds to the harshest Kirchnerism, expressed her discontent and was categorical: “Only someone very fanciful can think that after this the president will be re-elected, we live it as a duel, with great concern.”

Furthermore, he added: “With this agreement, the electoral base of the Frente de Todos is going to be pulverized.” Let us remember that Castro is part of “Soberanxs”, the space ultra-kirchnerist which, among other figures, make up the former vice president, Beloved Boudou, and the national deputy, Fernanda Vallejos. From the official Twitter account of “Soberanxs” they launched: “@soberanxs regrets that the government @alferdez @CFKArgentina does not heed our proposal presented on 11/20-make the IMF co-responsible for the indebtedness and the flight to the International Court of Justice- and, instead, cede Sovereignty and submit the Argentine people to the perpetual adjustment.

own Fernanda Vallejos Three days ago he generated great controversy when from his Twitter account he shot: “There is no greater systematic violator of the human rights of peoples in modern history than the IMF, an instrument of the United States to subject debtor countries to its geopolitical interests and to that of transnational capital that does business in our economies.” Last year they went viral. audio of Vallejos accusing Alberto Fernandez of being “entrenched in the Casa Rosada”. Fire friend.

So far, silence remains. Cristina Kirchner, from The Campora and of the maximum referents that respond to the hard wing of the Kirchnerism. In fact, one of the men closest to CFK is Axel Kicillo. Curiously, the governor of the province of Buenos Aires took more than 10 hours to express himself in this regard and did so through his Twitter account: “The President announced today that the IMF will refinance these maturities, which will prevent a real catastrophe in the immediate future. We hope that the opposition collaborates and takes charge of the disaster that it left in its wake.”

From the Pink House, to oppose the opinions against, they sent all the National Ministers to tweet in favor of the agreement. the chief of staff, John Manzur, for example, wrote: “The #Agreement with the IMF announced by President @alferdez allows us to recover the future that had seriously compromised Macri’s management with irresponsible and crushing debt. Now we have a horizon of predictability to be able to grow and develop.” The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzetti, public:We had a very serious, urgent problem and now we have a possible and reasonable solution. It is time to unite in the solutions and not divide ourselves in the problems. Let’s trust in Argentina, let’s trust in us and us”.

And the Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, tweeted: “The #Agreement with the International Monetary Fund announced by @alferdez makes it clear who generated an unpayable debt and who found a reasonable solution. There will be no conditions for the development, growth and increase of investment in Public Works in Argentina”. Among others, Juan Zabaleta, Aníbal Fernández, Daniel Filmus, Jorge Ferraresi, Santiago Cafiero, Matías Lammens, Matías Kulfas and Gabriela Cerruti also showed their support on Twitter.

There is another interesting read: the official Instagram account of the Pink House made a post with all the messages of National Cabinet support under the following text: “Agreement between Argentina and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). After the announcement by the president @alferdezok, the National Cabinet followed up on social networks”. They had never done a post like this before. Clearly, there can always be a first time, but just the chosen context is striking.

In these cases, observing Twitter trends often helps us to graph reality. the hashtag #AgreementWithTheIMF which began to climb rapidly among the trends most used by Argentines once the announcement was known, remained among the top positions of the TT for almost a day until #NoAlAcuerdoFMI won the position with more than 9,000 tweets. Almost that duel for the hashtags is the same one that occurs during these hours between the Albertism and Kirchnerism with opinions for and against.
