Alba Berlin has no chance against Valencia

The basketball players from Alba Berlin suffered another clear defeat in the Euroleague. Two days after the Piraeus defeat, the Bundesliga team lost 66:81 (30:42) to the top Spanish team Valencia Basket at home in front of 9,235 spectators.

Alba remains second to last in the table after the 20th defeat in the 25th game. The best Berlin throwers were Matt Thomas with 15 and Khalifa Koumadje with 13 points.

The hosts had big problems with the physical superiority of the Spaniards right from the start. Hardly anything was achieved on the offensive in the early stages. In just under six minutes they only scored a meager three points. The deficit reached double digits (3:14) in the middle of the first quarter.

Afterwards, Alba fought a little better into the game and showed improvement, especially defensively. At the start of the second quarter they were within three points (20:23). But there was still a problem offensively. Apart from Thomas (13 points in the first half), no one scored consistently. And Valencia always started a little run when Alba got closer.

After the break, the guests finally pulled away. The Spaniards continued to hit their three-point shots diligently, and the Berliners also allowed them too many rebounds. At the end of the third period the deficit grew to 22 points (43:65). After that, Alba could no longer pose a threat to the Spaniards.
