Akseli Herlevi has looked at DVV’s first name search that Hemuli is a very rare name. Mia Ylöstalo-Kilpenäki

Restauranter Akseli Herlevi took a new name last fall.

Now his entire name is Akseli Johannes Jormanpoika Hemuli Herlevi. This is clear, for example, in the company register.

Herlevi applied for the name Hemuli on the website of the Digital and Population Information Agency (DVV). The name proposal progressed to the Nomination Board, which became an approved decision.

Hemuli has long been Herlev’s nickname.

Tepi of the Pine Fabric (restaurateur) has called me a hemul and a hemuka for at least ten years. When the group calls me a haemul, I thought, well, let’s add it there.

– I think it’s a funny name and it doesn’t have many. I am also interested in science and this. With a magnifying glass, I always wonder in the park everything that happens there, a bit like Hemulik.

“Yes I called my parents”

Hemuli also has a semantic meaning: it can be written in both small and big, as Hemuli is also a species. Hemuli is like a double hemuli.

– I’m just a simple hemuli, Herlevi throws.

No one has come to ask about the new name.

– Yes, I called my parents and I don’t know if they were surprised. They were probably a little, but on the other hand they weren’t very surprised.

Herlevi has also shown her new name on her new Kela card, which came in the mail shortly after the name was approved.

The name Hemuli will also come to the new passport.

According to DVV’s first name search, there have been less than five men and women named Hemuli since the 2010s, or less than ten.
