Ajax reserve team is stuck on a draw against Almere City

A day after the lost Johan Cruijff Scale (5-3 against PSV), a number of Ajax players were back on the field. Against Almere City FC, the team from Amsterdam, including Brian Brobbey and Calvin Bassey, drew 1-1 against the first divisionist.

Although many Ajax players still made minutes in the spectacular match against PSV yesterday, the team from Amsterdam was not superior in Almere. Goalkeeper Remko Pasveer had to come into action a number of times in the opening phase. The greatest chance arose after Bassey’s pass back was too short, after which Tijmen Wildeboer only went after Pasveer, but the keeper intervened skillfully.

Brobbey

After all, it was Ajax that took the lead after half an hour of play. Sean Klaiber took advantage of a bad kick by former Volendam goalkeeper Nordin Bakker. The wing defender delivered the ball to Brobbey, who signed for the 0-1.

Almere City was not impressed and continued to make an effort. The weather gods were not in a good mood in Almere, because the field was getting wetter and wetter. Ajax also looked lax and uninspired, so that Almere was able to equalize. Ilias Alhaft gave the ball to Joey Jacobs, who left Pasveer no chance and headed in the equalizer.

Ajax therefore closes the practice campaign with a 1-1 draw against Almere City FC. Next Saturday it starts with an away game in the competition. At 4.30 pm the match against Fortuna Sittard will start,
