Ajax is linked to De Graafschap tonight in the draw for the quarterfinals of the KNVB Cup tournament. The game is scheduled for February 28, March 1 or March 2. The final in De Kuip is on Sunday 30 April.
Ajax defeated FC Twente 1-0 in Enschede last Thursday. Earlier, the team from Amsterdam turned out to be too strong for FC Den Bosch with 2-0. De Graafschap settled in the previous rounds with the amateurs of Rijnsburgse Boys (1-3), HV & CV Quick (1-4) and De Treffers (3-0).
The other North Holland professional clubs have been eliminated. AZ was killed in extra time against FC Utrecht (1-2), Telstar lost a round earlier in the Grolsch Veste against FC Twente (3-1) and FC Volendam bowed to sc Heerenveen (2-0) in Friesland.
