Did he want to force a change or not? A journalist wanted to know it exactly from Jordan Henderson. The former Liverpool captain got involved in a word battle.

Jordan Henderson won many big titles with Jürgen Klopp and FC Liverpool, he was one of the team’s supports. In the meantime, the 34-year-old plays for Ajax Amsterdam-and it has become quite restless around him in the past few days.

Last week it became known that the former English international sparked the interest of the AS Monaco and could probably imagine a change. Dutch media even went so far in reporting that Henderson even wanted to change a change and is said to have threatened with a strike.

What suited: For the Europa League game against Galatasaray (2-1) last Thursday, the captain’s armband was withdrawn. In addition, he was accused of not celebrating the Ajax goals with his teammates and not thanking their own fans after the final whistle.

After the 2-1 win at the weekend against Feyenoord Rotterdam, in which Henderson then wore the captain’s armband again, there was now a curious and intensive change of words between a reporter and Jordan Henderson.

“Why do you want to switch to Monaco?” Asked the journalist. Henderson replied surprised where that came from. The reporter replied that the coach said that Henderson wanted to leave Ajax. There is a wide range. Henderson looked more and more surprised, asked, “the coach said that?”, “A wide range?” Then he became clearer: “That is not true.”

When the demand came whether it was true that Ajax wanted to sell him, Jordan Henderson slowly slipped the facial features.

“Well, you have negotiated, so I accept it, yes. It’s not about the details. I don’t give you any details. I know the truth. I know what happened. But I’m not here to get details about you betrayed.”

Henderson was then asked if he was convinced by Ajax head coach Francesco Farioli. “It wasn’t and he didn’t have to convince me,” he replied. “Nobody convinced me. They go into detail again. It’s not about the details.”

The journalist asked Henderson to give details, but he stubbornly refused. “I don’t need that,” he said. “I don’t have to sit here and defend myself. You don’t know the information.”

Henderson had previously clarified: “Untruth about me as a person. I tried to focus, but it hurts. People can criticize me because of my game, but when it becomes personally … With family, parents, a woman and children.

Henderson still has to put up with the questions about his future. In all European top leagues, including France, the transfer window closes this Monday.
