Ajax and Tadic split: captain’s contract officially dissolved

The marriage between Dusan Tadic and Ajax is officially over. The club has just announced that the Serb’s contract has been officially terminated. The captain of Ajax leaves Amsterdam after five seasons.

Tadic says the decision to leave the club has been a very difficult one. “However, I think now is the right time, I feel it is best not only for me but also for the club to make a fresh start.” Sven Mislintat says they would have liked to keep Tadic at the club but respect his wish.

Conversation with Mislintat

The soap has been playing around Tadic since Wednesday. The Serb was not present at the first training session that day where the internationals were present again, but that would have been for private reasons. On Thursday he had a half-hour conversation with the director of football affairs at De Toekomst and then went home.

This morning knew Football International to say that the conversation between Tadic’s agent Milos Malenovic and Mislintat would have been about the termination of the Serb’s contract. He is not satisfied with the current quality of the selection and wants purchases to be made, while the club would like to save money to make up for the lost money from the Champions League.

End of era

Tadic, one of the top earners at the club, would rather continue his career elsewhere for that reason. That could just be with the Turkish Besiktas. That name has also been circulating for days and they would also have submitted an official proposal to the Serbian attacker.

With the departure of Tadic, an era at the club comes to an end. He managed to enter the books every year with his great results. Tadic played 241 games in which he scored 105 goals and assisted 112 times.

As far as Tadic is concerned, this is not a final farewell, “I will remain an Ajax player forever and hope to return to Amsterdam in a different role, as a trainer, in the near future.” Ajax has also indicated that this is possible for him within the club: “The door will certainly remain open for him in that regard,” said Ajax.
