Ajax Amsterdam and Arsenal FC agree on Jurrien Timber change

Next top transfer to Havertz

After the planned transfer from Edson Álvarez (25) to BVB apparently failed, Sven Mislintat at Ajax Amsterdam can expect high transfer income in the near future. How “De Telegraafreported, the Dutch record champions have agreed on Jurrien Timber’s move to Arsenal.

For the 22-year-old central defender, the “Gunners” are said to be paying a market value of 42 million euros, which can increase to 47 million through bonuses. The Dutch international is now the 11th most expensive signing in Arsenal’s history, between Alexis Sánchez (€42.5m) and Shkodran Mustafi (€41m). Ajax has only sold a player for a larger sum four times so far.

Timber has been in agreement with Arsenal since the weekend on a contract until 2028. The Ajax homegrown had announced his desire to change a long time ago. A deal with Manchester United failed last year, and Timber also turned it down because of his World Cup chances. If he passes the medical check, he is now drawn to the Premier League, where he will share the dressing room with Kai Havertz (24), who has signed for 70 million euros from Chelsea.
