Airton Cozzolino, interview: “How I won the kitesurfing world championship”

After a long setback, Airton Cozzolino wins again. He comes first at the GKA Kite-Surf World Cup and wins the his sixth world title. In a final that kept everyone in suspense he annihilated Gabriel Benneton with a monstrous Shifty Frontside 3 rated by the judges with a score of 9.50. The Italian athlete, born in Cape Verde, is returning from very difficult years which had a significant impact on his athletic performance. But now It seems like things are finally starting to turn around. On the podium together with the Italian, the Spaniard Matchu Lopes (in second place) and the Brazilian Pedro Matos (in third place). Among women there multiple champion Moona Whyte which, after a period away from the Kite scene, returned to the limelight in 2023, finishing the race with a bang. Second was the Frenchwoman Capucine Delannoy and third was the Swiss Camille Losserand.
