Airstrikes reported in Sudan despite ceasefire | Abroad

A reporter from the German news agency DPA reported that a hospital in Omdurman was also hit during the fighting. There is no news yet of any deaths or injuries.

Sudan has been fighting heavy fighting between the army and paramilitaries for more than a week. De facto President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, also commander-in-chief of the army, wants to oust Vice President Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the leader of the influential paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with the help of the army. Both took control of the Horn of Africa country of 46 million people in two joint military coups in 2019 and 2021.

The fighting killed at least 460 people and injured 4,100 others, according to the World Health Organization. The real number of victims is probably much higher
