Air raid warning during the Rukh – Metalist Kharkiv match in the Ukrainian League!

According to the news in the Ukrainian media, the Ukrainian Premier League match played in the city of Lviv in the west of the country was interrupted after the sirens sounded in the city. Football players and match officials went to the shelter because of the warnings and waited here for a while. Players and officials then returned to the field and continued the fight.

Metalist Kharkiv defeated Rukh 2-1 in the match, which was completed in 4 hours due to the air raid warning.

The Ukrainian Premier Football League resumed yesterday, 6 months later, without spectators, in stadiums where bomb shelters were prepared after Russia’s military intervention in the country.

Due to Russia’s war in Ukraine, the matches are played without spectators only in Kiev and in the west of the country, which is more reliable.

The first match of the season in the Ukrainian league was held at the Olympic Stadium in the capital, Kiev. The match between Shakhtar Donetsk and Metalist 1925 Kharkiv ended in a 0-0 draw.
