The selection of PSV was treated on Saturday evening to a huge atmosphere promotion of the supporters. On the Trudoplein in Eindhoven, the bus in which players and supervisors were, was met by about 1,500 supporters. What followed was a huge amount of fireworks and torches to wish Peter Bosz’s team success for the top match against Ajax on Sunday afternoon in its own Philips Stadium.
On the Trudoplein it was already two hours before the players’ bus came by full of PSV supporters. Sung and fireworks were set off. But that was nothing compared to when the bus finally passed around a quarter to eight.
So massive fireworks and red torches were set off that the smoke was so thick that according to our correspondent you hardly saw a hand in mind. Also from the air the red glow above Trudoplein could be clearly seen from all the high buildings in Eindhoven.
For PSV it is Sunday afternoon at half past two on or under it. The people of Eindhoven have to win in -house to have a real chance on the national title. The Amsterdammers now have six points ahead of PSV. If the people of Eindhoven lose it will be nine, but they win, then there will only be three.
A possible victory certainly offers no guarantees on the title for PSV, but the pressure is over at Ajax. Now the Amsterdammers can afford two slips, even if Peter Bosz’s team wins everything. Although PSV has a much better goal difference, so an equal stand in the competition is to the disadvantage of Ajax.
The supporters of PSV at least made it clear to their club. They expect a team on Sunday afternoon that fights for every centimeter and holds the three points in Eindhoven.
