Agreement between the Italian Fair Play Committee and the Italian Digital Hub Foundation

The initiative for the ethics of digital ecosystems was presented today at CONI

Presented today in the Coni Council Room at the Foro Italico, the Agreement between the Italian National Fair Play Committee (CNIFP), the Italian Digital Hub Foundation (IDH) and the Payment Service Providers Association (APSP). The title of the event, “Digital Fair Play”, referred to the need to ethically support the development of digital ecosystems. Italian Digital Hub, chaired by prof. Maurizio Pimpinella, was born with the aim of providing technological and innovative consultancy services to support companies, central and local public administrations, public bodies, trade associations, in order to encourage Digital Transformation and the development of entrepreneurship with a more strong culture of competitiveness and the codification of new business models. The IDH Foundation, by virtue of the various and broad skills that compose it, therefore also acts as a study center and laboratory of digital ideas, projects and initiatives in support of the APSP. Among the salient points highlighted in the conference by President Pimpinella, the achievement – through the agreement with the Italian National Fair Play Committee, a meritorious association of CONI chaired by Ruggero Alcanterini – of a strong and decisive signal: the values ​​of ethics, transparency and fairness are essential for the development of a healthy and inclusive society, in a world that is increasingly interconnected and dependent on technology. Keywords such as clarity, data protection, responsibility, collective commitment, sustainability, digital literacy, promotion of best practices, trust, clarity, accessibility, ethical finance were repeated several times. Transparency is therefore established as a fundamental value not only to protect consumers, but also to help prevent fraud and incorrect behaviour. Emphasis was placed on the ethical circuit project, a real system in which digital, ethics and transparency bring their characteristics together to support selected projects.

On the occasion of the signing of the Agreement between CNIFP and the IDH Foundation, the opportunity was also taken to present the appointment of President Alcanterini as Coordinator of the Digital Fair Play Department within the Italian Digital Hub Foundation. The announcement was made directly by President Maurizio Pimpinella, who expressed great satisfaction by virtue of Alcanterini’s considerable skills and experience in supporting an ethical digital transition of civil society, businesses and professionals. To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Italian National Fair Play Committee which is being celebrated this year, President Ruggero Alcanterini felt it was his duty to mention, among the numerous points for reflection offered at the conference, a series of initiatives planned, including those relating to the digital world and aimed at supporting sector operators and citizens (digital inclusion), starting from the historic agreement with the Hub Foundation and APSP and with a view to an ethical transition of civil society. Also made official is the fact that the Fair Play Committee has just certified the qualification of the first fifty Fair Play Managers in Italy, an absolute novelty also on the international scene, pursuing a strategy based on the training of new professional figures aimed at optimizing what they do. Finally, during the current year, agreements with the world of spas and environmental greenery will be strengthened with appointments in Bologna and Milan, between January and February, passing through San Remo. And then Roma Dance in April, Fair Play for Life in June, the International Solidarity Meeting in Lignano Sabbiadoro in July and then Oikoumene Meeting Estate in Ischia in September, after sharing the World Fair Play Day with the Fair Play for Peace in Brussels . In short, many events to put into practice the Shakespearean principle of respect for the rules and promote the right to joy. Throughout 2024, the Committee will be on the field with the motto “The Italy I would like – the Italy of Fair Play”. Among the many surprises to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary, also mentioned is the “WILLIAM Fair Play Shot” created by the young bartender Davide Bersaglini, which will be appropriately launched in one of the next events in the Committee’s calendar. Among those who spoke in the Council Room, in addition to numerous journalists, some representatives of associations from the national level interested in the country’s digitalisation process such as Antonino Viti, head of the Italian Association of Culture, Sport and Leisure (ACSI) and Michela Perrotta, sole director of You Emergency.
