The police were shot at Wednesday evening from a house on the Domineestraat in Vierlingsbeek. The agents then shot back.
Earlier that evening, the police received a report from a resident of the house. He had an acute request for help. When the agents arrived there, the man was shot several times aimed at them.
This was called in from various specialist units, including an arrest team and negotiators.
Slightly injured in the head
The police have used violence and fired shots to try to get the situation under control. Together with the arrest team, they managed to keep the suspect resident. He was slightly injured during his arrest. The agents were not injured.
As usual, an independent investigation is being conducted into the actions of the police in Vierlingsbeek.
