A man was saved by agents from the water on the Kanaaldijk Zuid-West in Helmond on Sunday morning. The man could not get out of the water himself.

A local resident heard the victim around six in the morning ‘Hello, hello!’, Calling, but from his balcony he saw no one. Because the call continued and this was not good for him, he called the police.

Rescue
A little later he saw the conscious man in the canal and called him. The victim indicated that he had fallen into the water and could not get out of it himself. The local resident then again called the police to pass on the correct location of the victim.

The agents then succeeded in getting the victim on dry land. They wrapped him in a rescue blanket to prevent further hypothermia. The man indicated that he had been in the water for hours.

Chocolate
Ambulance staff took the man to a hospital for a check -up.

Because of his good deed, the agents visited the alert reporter later in the morning. They thanked him and made him happy with a box of chocolate.
