The accident happened just before nine hours tonight on the Prins Bernhardweg (A7) at the Zaandam junction. There was no chasing at that time, the police say. There were two agents in the police car, one of whom was taken to the hospital.
“The colleague was still approachable,” the police spokesman emphasizes. A passenger from the other vehicle, in which two people were sitting, was also taken to the hospital. The police cannot say anything about the victim’s condition.
Other police unit investigates the collision
It is not clear how the collision could happen. A police unit of another region is currently investigating the accident on the highway. “We do that to do research as objectively as possible,” said the spokesperson.
The connecting road from the A8 to the A7 is closed due to the investigation, the ANWB reports. According to the police, the investigation into the accident can certainly take another two hours.
