AGCO donates US$650,000 to support UNICEF’s emergency relief efforts in Turkey

AGCO Corporation, Your Agriculture Company, (NYSE: AGCO), a global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and precision farming technology, today announced that it has donated $650,000 to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in direct support of its earthquake relief efforts in the United Nations Turkey donates. The donation facilitates the delivery of essential supplies and services to children, youth and families affected by the recent earthquakes.

“Our thoughts go out to our colleagues and their families in Turkey who continue to face many challenges following the devastating earthquakes,” said Eric Hansotia, AGCO Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We really appreciate the efforts of everyone involved to ensure the safety of our colleagues and their families, our Massey Ferguson dealers and our farmers working to secure the food supply. Our donation will provide those affected with the quick relief they need. ”

AGCO’s donation to UNICEF will be used to distribute supplies and services to those in need in Turkey. While the total number of children affected remains unclear, an estimated 5.4 million children live in provinces affected by the earthquakes. 2.5 million children need immediate support.

“The effects of the earthquakes on children and families are catastrophic and have left hundreds of thousands in a desperate situation,” said Bettina Junker, executive director of UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein. “We are doing everything in our power to ensure everyone affected by the disaster has the support they need.” After natural disasters, UNICEF is often one of the first organizations on the ground. In Turkey, UNICEF teams are working with partners to distribute essential supplies such as essential health supplies, blankets, clothing, safe drinking water and sanitation, and continue to provide safe spaces for children to play and recover from the traumatic events, that they have experienced.
