The handball players of the THW Kiel still have to take a step to move into the final Four of the European League in Hamburg. To do this, the German handball record champion needs a win in the home game against the French club Limoges Handball on Tuesday.

Because it is clear: After 26:26 last Tuesday in France, another draw is not enough if the game runs from 6.45 p.m. in the Kiel Arena. If necessary, the decision must be made in seven meter throwing.

So far the “zebras” don’t want to let it come. “We now know exactly what we have to do,” said THW left-wing Rune Dahmke. And back area player Eric Johansson emphasized: “We could have played better in Limoges, but we also have everything in our hands.”

Dahmke hopes “Passionate Fans “

The domestic audience is intended to help so that the lot with the lettering “THW Kiel” is really involved in the draw for the final Four in Hamburg (May 24/25). “I am sure that our fans will be at least as passionate as those in Limoges,” Dahmke puts on the “White Wall”.

A Kiel Faustfand should certainly be international experience. While Limoges handball is involved in the European stage for the first time, the THW has been a regular guest in the European Cup competitions since 1994.

“The boys want to fulfill the dream of Hamburg with our fans.”
-THW trainer Filip Jicha

The guest from the edge of the French central massif will certainly not throw the white towel before kick -off. “We don’t always play perfectly, but we always have the right attitude and a very strong bond with each other,” said the Nigerian left -hander Faruk Yusuf. He and his teammates had to play a home game in the French league against Cesson-Rennes (30:29) last Friday evening.

The THW, on the other hand, was free of play at the weekend because the originally scheduled home game against the Foxes Berlin was brought forward by a week. “The boys could recharge your mental strength, be ready, have energy, and you want to fulfill the dream of Hamburg with our fans,” said THW trainer Filip Jicha. He must continue to plan without Nikola Bilyk (thigh problems) and Harald Reinkind (hand break).
