The church members have seen it coming for a while, but now that there is a sales sign in front of the church, Hoogendoorn finds it very unfortunate. “It’s very sad. Almost no more services

The Protestant municipality of Zuiderwoude-Uitdam-Broek in Waterland is shrinking and still has around one hundred members, of which about forty are still present at church services every Sunday.

They are now being held alternately in Zuiderwoude and Broek in Waterland. Hoogendoorn about the church in Uitdam: “There has been almost no service here in recent years. It is more empty than it is used. That is not the intention either.”
