Victory against Dusseldorf II
Bundesliga founding member Preußen Münster has managed to return to the 3rd division. The Westphalians, who had failed last year by a hair’s breadth at Rot-Weiss Essen, secured the championship in the Regionalliga West with a 2-0 (1-0) win over Fortuna Düsseldorf II on Saturday and made it after three years in the fourth division Return to the 3rd division.
With 73 points and four games to play, Münster is in first place and direct promotion can no longer be denied. Simon Scherder (41st minute) and Deniz-Fabian Bindemann (66th) scored the goals in front of 12,754 spectators in the completely sold-out Preußenstadion.
