After the Super Bowl: Sports commentator Frank Buschmann announces a break

Frank Buschmann did not comment on the Super Bowl. This was criticized on social media. The commentator now deleted his X profile – and announced a break.

Sports commentator Frank Buschmann was not there for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas. Instead, he commented on the “American Ice Football” format for RTL. This upset some fans on social media.

Buschmann, who commented on the major NFL event for “ran” from 2012 to 2017, countered on the X platform on Sunday evening: “It’s unbelievable how presumptuous people are in these networks! I have no idea about anything and especially not about my life , but babble on. It sucks!”

“I’ve been taking things to heart for some time now”

Buschmann had already said at the end of last year in the episode “NFL Special – Week 15”: “I’m so exhausted. I’ll tell you how it is. I’m slowly reaching the end of my strength.” Buschmann was obviously annoyed that he received such unpleasant comments on social media despite his early rejection. On Monday, the sports commentator’s X-profile could no longer be found.

Buschmann also explained on Instagram with a photo of himself and colleagues that he would be taking some time off. The 59-year-old wrote: “Lately, I’ve been approached more often by people asking if something was wrong. If I was annoyed by something. I’m obviously not a good actor! For some time now I’ve been taking things to heart that I used to were completely irrelevant. What do people write on social media and what is made of it? Who reacts to it and how? I’ve already made a video about it. I used to care about it! Today I’m less and less successful at it. But that’s up to me. “

“I feel like this isn’t doing me any good.”

Buschmann further explains: “My ego has always been big and loud, but even for me, a lot of things are going in a strange direction. I feel that that’s not good for me. On the other hand, I still have the urge to try things out and make a difference . And certainly my ego makes it difficult to make the right decisions.” Therefore he will take “a longer break”. He will “have enough time and enough great people to help me find a path that’s fun. Because that should always be the most important thing, otherwise you can’t do this job well!”

Buschmann received a lot of support for his post. He then posted a photo of himself in his Instagram story and wrote: “Don’t worry, dad is fine. My post on my account should just take you away, nothing more.” Behind it he posted “See you” (in German: “See you soon”) and three skiing emojis. “Buschi”, as he is also called, may be going on a skiing holiday.
