Kruys has represented the group for the past two seasons. He took over from Regillio Simons in 2024. In his first season, FC Volendam became champion of the first division under the leadership of Kruys.
“We had a wonderful time with a championship, a club record of 82 points and the Back and Forth,” says Kruys in a press release on the FC Volendam website.
“This season was also great, but we were unable to finish it at the last minute. I would like to thank everyone at FC Volendam for the wonderful time. FC Volendam is going their way and I am going my way.”
Joint decision
Technical manager Patrick Busby explains the trainer’s departure. “Rick and I have spoken at length in recent days and have jointly decided that our paths will immediately take a different route.”
“I look back on a great collaboration with a good trainer and a beautiful person, in which success and disappointment have passed. FC Volendam thanks Rick for his energy and effort and we wish him a great new step.”
It is still unclear who will succeed Kruys in the fishing village.
