Austin Butler stars in the latest “Elvis” movie. Since then, all of Hollywood seems to have revolved around him – and now his first Oscar nomination has been announced. That should be for Butler, who as a child was still in US youth sitcoms like “Ned’s Ultimate School Madness”Hannah Montana and Zoey101 would be a great honor.

Austin Butler: “I consider it a way of honoring Lisa Marie”

Butler recounts the Oscar nomination moment in an interview with Today: “I woke up and had like 20 missed calls from my agent, manager and everyone else. What an exciting way to wake up.” The video clip can be seen on Twitter:

Speaking of the loss of Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie, who died after suffering a cardiac arrest, he said: “I think about how I wish she were here to celebrate with me right now. It’s the same with Elvis, I wish they could both be there in those moments. It feels kinda strange to celebrate at a time of such deep sorrow. I see it as a way of honoring her.”
