But unfortunately it’s “Eastern whining” in this case. Of course there are legitimate reasons to complain about certain issues, including in football. There was no alternative to selling out anyway; no “exchange” or anything else could have forced the East players to stay in the structurally left behind clubs. Kohl could have called any club as often as he wanted to ban transfers. If anything, East and West Germany’s football leagues would have had to remain separate for a longer period of time after reunification until the eastern clubs could compete in their own professional league.

But this topic really has nothing to do with the promotion mode from the regional league. Nevertheless, as if out of nowhere, a circle jerk arises under each of the reports, from untruths such as “Lok qualified for the 3rd league purely from a sporting point of view” to absurd demands that one should simply ignore the rules and statutes. And following the rules is then compared to the opportunistic actions of probably the most corrupt official in football. Everything about the claims and demands is completely ridiculous.
