On Thursday evening at around 7:45 p.m., the Berlin fire brigade tried to rescue a man missing in the Spree at the Rathausbrücke in Mitte, who had apparently jumped off the bridge into the water.

The divers of the Berlin fire brigade found the young man shortly after arrival and pulled him unconscious out of the water, but an immediately initiated resuscitation had to be stopped – the man died on the spot.
