After Astroworld tragedy: Travis Scott announces “Road to Utopia” concert series

After critics accused Travis Scott of violent behavior in his recent performances, he made several changes to his stage show. Now the rapper has announced a seven-night concert series at Las Vegas’ Zouk nightclub called “Road to Utopia.”

Scott’s residency is scheduled to begin on September 17th. According to a press release from the nightclub, his show is a “groundbreaking, one-of-a-kind nightclub residency experience.” Scott will reportedly use the nightclub’s lighting system as it moves to the music to provide a visual experience for his fans. He is also said to have signed a multi-year contract with nightclub Zouk. Further details about the plans are not yet known.

Ronn Nicolli, Resorts World Las Vegas’ chief marketing officer, told Billboard that the nightclub’s past experience working with Scott convinced them to provide the location for his residency. “We had a great experience working with him and the team and knew he would fit perfectly into the Zouk family,” said the manager.

After Astroworld tragedy: Travis Scott adjusts security measures

The rapper slowly returned to regular live performances after the tragedy at his Astroworld concert in Houston, Texas last October that claimed the lives of 10 people.

In his recent appearances, fans climbed a light traverse. As a result, Scott had to interrupt the concert and ask them to come down. A Scott rep said the rapper was “determined to do his part to ensure events are as safe as possible.” To avoid incidents like this in the future and to ensure greater safety, he made changes to his stage show.

Scott will headline two performances at the O2 in London later this month – his first since the Astroworld tragedy. He is also scheduled to headline the Primavera Sound Festival in Brazil, Chile and Argentina in November.
