Pietro Iacopucci (48) is a well-known name in the city of Waregem, because he was an alderman in the city for almost 20 years. He will now work as general manager of housing company Vivus. The social housing company manages thousands of homes for families with a limited income in eight municipalities in South-West Flanders.
Iacopucci cannot combine his position as alderman with being director, because the city is one of the partners. He will officially start his new job on July 1. Who will succeed him will become clear next Monday. The party may put forward a candidate regardless of the results.
