Borussia Dortmund is sticking with coach Edin Terzic despite the sporting decline. Sports director Sebastian Kehl also remains in office.
According to consistent media reports, this is the result of a discussion lasting several hours with managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke, sports director Sebastian Kehl, club advisor Matthias Sammer and Terzic on Thursday.
Dortmund, who started the season with the goal of winning the championship, are only in fifth place after 16 Bundesliga games. The gap to the Champions League places is already six points. On Tuesday there was a disappointing 1-1 draw against relegation candidate Mainz 05. It was the sixth competitive game in a row without a win.
Just missed the championship in the summer
Terzic has been head coach since summer 2022 Borussia Dortmund and narrowly missed out on the Bundesliga title with BVB last season. He had previously been a coach at Borussia in the 20/21 season and then held the position of technical director. In total, he has been in charge on the sidelines in 102 games so far.
