Sandro Simonet experienced a ski alpine winter to forget. Thanks to a dream wedding in the mountains, the Swiss should have ticked off the horror season quickly.

The 29-year-old had lost his World Cup in the Swiss squad and started mainly in the second-class European Cup. It didn’t really go smoothly there either. In the overall classification, he landed only in a disappointing 60th place. At least 17th place jumped out in the overall slalom ranking.
At the end of the season, his shape short. The ski star landed in sixth place in the slalom in Oppdal in Norweg. “After I was really bad at the beginning of this winter, my last achievements give me hope,” he told Swiss newspaper “Blick”.
Ski Alpin: Herber setback for Sandro Simonet after cruciate ligament tear
Simonet looks back on a career with great complications anyway. In March 2022 he was seriously injured and tore the cruciate ligament. He then lost important sponsors.
After his comeback, the great success failed. After Simonet had lost his squad status at Swiss-Ski, he also had to fight through himself financially. With the help of a crowdfunding project, he financed his sporting activities.
